New Mexico Public Lands Information Center
Since it’s opening in 1997, the New Mexico Public Lands Information Center has been the public face for the Bureau of Land Management in New Mexico. The primary function of the Public Lands Information Center is to be a one-stop information source about all of the state’s public lands regardless of the managing agency; to provide information about recreational opportunities and facilities on those lands; explain in a customer-friendly way the rules and regulations, and to provide free or for sale brochures, guide books, and maps about public lands. BLM staff works closely with Center’s staff for help in notifying the public of events affecting access to particular public lands and in general assisting the BLM in its information and educational efforts.
PLIA’s Public Lands Information Center in the BLM New Mexico State Office offers a wide selection of educational games and toys and resource-related apparel and friendly, courteous encouragement to visit New Mexico’s public lands.
